The National Forest
Across 200 square miles of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire, a new forest for the nation is being created. Millions of trees have already been planted since the early 1990s, creating new habitats for wildlife and a beautiful landscape for everyone to enjoy.
The National Forest Way is an ideal way to discover more about the Forest and its rich industrial heritage, to experience the delights of woodland and wildflowers, and to walk beside meandering rivers and through ancient deer parks. You can follow this 75-mile long distance walking trail as it passes through Rosliston Forestry Centre, on its way between the National Memorial Arboretum in the west and Beacon Hill Country Park in the east.
