aged 1-4<\/strong> and their parents or carers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Get your little ones out into nature exploring the sights, sounds, smells and textures of the woodland, right here in the National Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Each week we have a themed activity, such as nature-craft alongside free play and exploration in our enclosed small wood. We also have a sheltered area with a mud kitchen and natural items to collect, explore and sort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please wear clothes suitable for the weather<\/strong> that you don\u2019t mind getting messy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">You can join Saplings for <strong>pay-as-you go<\/strong> individual sessions. Alternatively, <strong>pre-book<\/strong> a half term&#8217;s worth of sessions &#8211; usually 6 or 7 weeks &#8211; and know that your place is <strong>guaranteed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re within easy reach of Swadlincote, Burton, Derby, Ashby and Lichfield<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bespoke sessions available for groups!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re proud to be part of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust &#8216;Nature Tots&#8217; He\u2019s become more <strong>relaxed<\/strong> and <strong>chatty<\/strong> in both the teacher\u2019s and other children\u2019s company. It has helped him be more confident around other people, has really helped his <strong>speech development<\/strong> and has taught him valuable <strong>life skills<\/strong>. It has given him and me the opportunity to do fun activities outside that we would not have thought to do otherwise. <\/em><br><br><em>It\u2019s clear that so much creativity goes into planning the sessions. Ellen, who runs the sessions, is so passionate about Saplings and the children all look forward to seeing her. <\/em><br><br><em><strong>I cannot recommend Saplings enough<\/strong> and wish that every child could have this <strong>amazing experience<\/strong>. Joseph\u2019s confidence around others has improved so much \u2013 as lockdown through the pandemic had really affected this. <\/em><br><br><em>It has also helped him <strong>develop other skills<\/strong> such as safety in the outdoors, gross motor skills when digging, sensory skills while exploring different textures, and fine motor skills through all the varied activities.<\/em>&#8221;<br><br><em>He&#8217;s also enjoyed all the messy activities in the mud kitchen and <strong>developed an amazing understanding of the natural world<\/strong> around him.
